About this event
Bedford Borough Council are preparing plans for a 200-place Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) school in the grounds of the former Robert Bruce Middle School in Kempston, off Hillgrounds Road for children aged 2 to 19.
Our vision for children with SEND is the same as for all children in Bedford Borough – that they achieve well and fulfil their potential in their early years, at school and college, through transition to adulthood, have equal life chances and lead happy and fulfilled lives.
This is a hugely important site, and the successful delivery of the Bedford Special Educational Needs School, which will be run by Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust, is an essential part of our commitment to support children and young people in Kempston and across Bedford Borough with SEND.
Bedford Borough Council have appointed the leading construction specialists Wates Group to lead the construction and design of the new school. The whole team is committed to developing a leading purpose-built school that will provide the high-quality facilities and education children in Bedford Borough deserve.
We have organised two virtual presentations in the coming weeks so you can hear the project team talk through the proposals and answer your questions.
