Australian Business Consulting & Solutions invites you to its webinar

How to create a mentally healthy workplace

About this webinar

Don’t miss this important webinar: mental health costs Australian workplaces $14 billion per year, making it an urgent work health and safety (WHS) priority for every industry.

In our fast-paced modern society, factors such as constant connectivity with technology, less in-person social interaction and opportunities to hone social skills, the prevalence of drug use among young people, and a growing wealth gap are all contributing to a rise in mental health issues. According to Sane Australia, nearly half of the Australian population (45%) will experience mental illness.

Our economy has shifted from agrarian and industrial to an experience economy, based on the knowledge and skillset of workers. We have undergone a transition from physical labour to emotional labour — that is, a person’s emotional intelligence levels will support them or not, to manage challenging roles in workplace scenarios. Methods for recruiting and training in the modern workplace haven’t caught up with this either, leaving employers and employees to bear significant financial and social costs.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), in ‘Creating a Mentally Healthy Workplace: Return on Investment Analysis’ calculate that, on average, Australian businesses receive a return of $2.30 for every $1 they invest in effective workplace mental health strategies.

In this webinar organisational consulting expert, speaker and executive coach, Larry Forsyth will:

  • Raise your awareness of how to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health and actions you can take in support of mental health issues
  • Increase your knowledge of the possible causes or risk factors of mental health
  • Increase your awareness of evidenced-based medical and psychological mental health issues
  • Increase your capabilities in how to give appropriate initial help and support someone experiencing a mental health issue

Let’s face it, workers spend 40 hours a week in the office, at their desks and work stations, so it's time to examine how we can bring the outside in!
