Acquisition Lab invites you to their event

The Capital Roundtable

About this event

Raising capital is its own search. Finding the deal is hard enough. Lining up the money to win it, on terms that don't give away the thing you're building, is a separate problem most people underestimate.

The Capital Roundtable is a free, monthly conversation for searchers raising outside capital, going after bigger deals, or weighing whether to. Self-funded searchers thinking about bringing in investors, funded searchers in the middle of a raise, independent sponsors running deal-by-deal. If money and structure are the part you're wrestling with, this is the room.

This is not a webinar, and it's not a how-to on getting an SBA loan. There are a thousand places for that. This is a small group, cameras on, talking through 2 or 3 topics per session on the part that's actually hard: investors, structure, returns, the docs, and getting real commitments behind you before you walk into a seller's office. We bring a point of view to get each topic going, then it's the room's conversation. We want the real numbers, the raise that fell apart, the deal you lost on structure, the things you'd never put in writing. Slots are limited. No recording is shared afterward. You have to be there and participate to get it.

A rotating sample of what we cover:

  • The chicken and the egg: a deal to raise, capital to win the deal
  • Getting commitments that actually open doors with sellers
  • The economics of working with investors: what you keep, what you give up
  • Investor returns: what's realistic, preferred, hurdle, carry
  • Majority vs minority: control vs the bigger check
  • The cap table and how it evolves
  • The docs: term sheets, operating agreements, what to fight for
  • Independent sponsor economics: deal-by-deal fees and carry
  • The capital stack: how debt and equity fit on a bigger deal
  • Working with investors and the bank at the same time
  • Bigger is often safer: what gets easier, what gets harder
  • Losing on structure, not price
  • Preferred equity: the terms that quietly decide who really wins
  • The model behind the raise: debt sizing, DSCR, and what investors stress-test

Come ready to be on camera and jump in. The people who get the most out of this are the ones who talk. Bring whatever you're working through right now. This is the room where capital-backed searchers talk shop with people doing the same thing.

Hosted by Acquisition Lab, the largest community of acquisition entrepreneurs in the world. 1,200+ members, 480+ closed deals, over $1B in enterprise value.

60 minutes, live, the closest thing to being in the room together. Anti-hype.
