Acquisition Lab invites you to their event

The Closing Roundtable

About this event

Finding the deal was supposed to be the hard part. Then you got one. Now it's diligence surprises, a working capital fight, a lender list that keeps growing, a seller getting cold feet, and a day one you have to be ready to run. The stretch between a live deal and a business you actually run is where deals die and new owners get hurt, and almost nobody talks about it honestly.

The Closing Roundtable is a free, monthly conversation for anyone with a live deal, from the first offer through diligence and close, and for new owners in their first six months. One room for the whole stretch, because the people six weeks from closing and the people six weeks past it have more to teach each other than anyone else. Wednesdays at 1pm ET, alternating with the Capital Roundtable. Open to the public. You don't have to be a member.

This is not a webinar, and it's not an AMA. You bring the question you're actually sitting with, the diligence finding, the transition mess, the thing you'd never post anywhere, and we put it to the room. The answers come from your peers, plus a rotating mix of Lab leadership, advisors, and members who have closed and lived the first year. We facilitate, and we add our point of view when it earns its place. Members and non-members sit in the same room, and nobody will pitch you.

Cameras on. The room stays small on purpose, and no recording is shared afterward, so people say the real version, the deal that's wobbling, the hire that isn't working, the month the cash got tight. You have to be there.

Questions the room takes on.

  • Keeping a deal alive between the accepted offer and the wire
  • What the QoE turned up, and what to do about it
  • The working capital peg, and why it starts fights
  • APA terms worth fighting for, and the ones that aren't
  • The lender's closing list, third party reports, insurance, landlord consent
  • Cold feet and retrading, and reading which one you're dealing with
  • When to walk, sunk cost against the wrong business
  • Day one, what you say to the team and what you don't
  • The seller transition, handoffs that worked and ones that didn't
  • The first 90 days, what breaks when the prior owner ran it all in his head
  • Cash in the transition months, profitable on paper, tight in the bank
  • The mental game, the personal guarantee, the 2am worries

Come ready to be on camera and jump in. The people who get the most out of the room are the ones who talk. Bring the deal, or the business, you're living in right now.

Hosted by Acquisition Lab, the home of acquisition entrepreneurship. We guide the whole journey. Search, fund, close, operate. The education is free, and the Lab only profits after members buy good businesses.

60 minutes, live, the closest thing to being in the room together.
