Cristhiam Munoz-Alfonso is a swine nutrition specialist with over nine years of research experience in Canada and the United States. He holds a Ph.D. in Animal Sciences, with a research focus on amino acid requirements and metabolism in sows. His expertise spans experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication, and he has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and innovations in swine nutrition and energy metabolism
Dr. Jay S. Johnson is an Associate Professor of Animal Welfare and Stress Physiology in the Division of Animal Sciences at the University of Missouri. The overall goal of his research program is to identify production-relevant stressors and evaluate and mitigate their impacts on livestock health, productivity, and welfare. His research program has generated over 93 peer-reviewed research articles and has been continuously funded through the USDA, NIH, and allied industry. As a result of his research efforts, Jay has received several awards including the 2021 Midwest Section Outstanding Young Researcher Award, the 2023 Early Career Achievement Award, and the 2026 Animal Industry Innovation Award through the American Society of Animal Science.
