A Chief Metaverse Officer is typically responsible for the development and maintenance of a company's online presence in a metaverse. As the Metaverse has begun to grow, larger organizations with more complex metaverse operations have begun hiring dedicated chief metaverse officers who are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's metaverse presence.
The role is a controversial one, with industry thought leaders (such as AIXR's very own Daniel Colaianni) debating the need for, and the definition, of what a Chief Metaverse Officer actually is. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, which makes it ripe for debate.
