About this event
You are kindly invited to attend our webinar "Challenges & Opportunities in the Diagnosis of Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacteria" taking place on Thursday April 29th.
There are two sessions: one in French 1.30 PM & one in English 3.30 PM (see details below).
You combat multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) and bacterial infection daily, so you know the epidemiology is evolving into a global health crisis. However, recently introduced treatments - with emerging options in the pipeline - mark a new approach in the fight against antimicrobial resistance. Join us in this webinar, together with Beckman Coulter, as we'll present the status of current drugs to fight bacterial infection, updated breakpoints and an antimicrobial treatment forecast.
After watching this webinar, you will be better equipped to improve patient outcomes and advance antimicrobial stewardship by understanding the benefits and limitations of:
Speaker: Fabienne Wichmann, PhD - Application specialist Microbiology
BECKMAN COULTER Nyon, Switzerland
Passionate scientist with a background in microbiology and plant biology, Fabienne Wichmann has over 9 years of experience managing scientific projects in multinational environments. After a postdoctoral appointment at Yale University, where she managed projects on antibiotic resistant genes in manure in soil, Fabienne Wichmann worked at the Cantonal Laboratory of Basel-Stadt, where she managed projects on containment regulation: escape of lab-generated genetically modified organisms into the environment and analysis of scientific data. With in-depth experience in molecular biology and microbiology, she joined Beckman Coulter 4 years ago as an application specialist in microbiology.
Speaker: Dr. Jean B. Patel, Principal Scientific Affairs Microbiology
Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, Atlanta, GA, USA
Dr. Patel joined Beckman Coulter after nearly 17 years at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the Antimicrobial Resistance Reference Laboratory and the Office of Antimicrobial Resistance. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and the Assistant Director of Clinical Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Patel is known worldwide for her expertise and publications in antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
