About this event
Material Bank's "Design Your Impact" Series
1 x IDCEC Credits Offered to All Attendees (TBD / Pending Approval)
In this session, OTJ Architects will explain how, by engaging stakeholders early in the design process, it is possible for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) to become driving elements of successful designs. Varied areas of impact will be explored, from conscientious space planning to thoughtful way-finding.
The panel will discuss considerations of not only physical diversity but neurodiversity, and how color and materiality can impact focus and emotional wellbeing. Many aspects may not be new questions to ask, but how we approach the solutions may be altered when we thoughtfully consider building for the many and not just the typical.
