About this event
Every place is different, each has a local dialect not just in spoken language but in the way that the landscape, cityscape and each vernacular building speak of its unique identity. Contemporary buildings can join the conversation, expressing themselves in this local dialect but saying something new.
In Taiwan, the new Public Library in the Tainan City and the Main Train Station masterplan, the National Performing Arts Centre and an Affordable Housing complex in Kaohsiung City, all aim to establish a unique identity in a globalized world. These four projects, varying greatly in scale, share a common goal: regenerating their surrounding areas.
