ASPI Publication Launch: Global Terrorism Index 2022

About this event

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute, in partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), invites you to the launch of the IEP report 'Global Terrorism Index 2022: Measuring the Impact of Terrorism'.

Produced annually the IEP Global Terrorism Index provides a comprehensive summary of the key trends in global terrorism. The ninth edition of the report provides a specific focus on the Sahel region, political terrorism, and the impact of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic on terrorism.

The event will begin with a pre-recorded keynote address from Steve Killelea, Founder and Executive Chairman, Institute for Economics and Peace; Dr David Hammond, Director of Research, Institute for Economics and Peace and moderated by Katja Theodorakis, Head of ASPI’s Counterterrorism Program. Additional panellists to be announced soon.

Join the panel to discuss the report's key findings, the socio-economic conditions under which terrorism occurs, the recent geopolitical drivers, and how terrorism has changed over time.

This is a hybrid event, with the option to attend in-person or online.
