Demystifying Generator Protection

This is an introductory look into the core concepts of generator protection to provide a basis for future learning.

We will discuss a variety of protection method concepts such as types of grounding protection, overcurrent, thermal protection and differential protection and a general understanding of where and why they are used.

Protection considerations during generator startup will also be discussed.
