Implementation Excellence | Creating language-rich communities

About this event

“A mastery of literacy, whether it be reading, writing or use of spoken language, is vital in ensuring the best outcomes for all students in all areas of the curriculum.” (Ofsted, 2013)

Are you committed to creating a language-rich community at your school?

Our panel of school leaders will be exploring manageable, sustainable and impactful ways to create language-rich communities, within a range of settings.

Facilitated by Alex Randle, former teacher and examiner, our esteemed panel of educators will consider the following questions:

  1. Why are you committed to creating language-rich communities?
  2. How have you created a language-rich community at your school?
  3. What are your next steps to make your students more ‘word conscious’?

Our panel includes:

  • Ellie Ashton, Senior English Specialist at Bedrock and Former Head of English
  • Sophie Baldock, Literacy Coordinator at Crofton School
  • Leanne Inglis, English teacher at Ripley St Thomas CE Academy
  • Charlotte Parkins, Head of English at Middlewich High School
