British Retail Consortium invites you to their event

Don't guess it, aud-it: How retailers can cut costs and optimise their estate through energy audits

About this event

Spiralling energy costs have added tens of thousands to retailers’ annual energy bills, but cutting cost has often focused on obtaining cheaper deals rather than reducing consumption.

Join BRC and our partner Amber for this webinar, open to all retailers. Amber has worked in partnership with retailers since 2015 and knows that conducting energy audits across a representative sample of your estate is one of the most powerful tools to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

While balancing multiple priorities at once, you can sometimes lose sight of your sites. A representative energy audit would help to:

  • Develop a more holistic view of how your site portfolio is performing, providing an opportunity to isolate the most energy-intensive sites to help make the biggest reductions in energy consumption and cost.
  • Allow a bottom-up approach to estimating portfolio-wide CapEx expenditure, enabling more appropriate budget requests.
  • Identify issues which, when fixed, can improve site safety.
  • Springboard you to ESOS compliance and a successful action plan.
  • Re-engage with site teams, making them feel more connected to HQ.

The questions we’ll look to answer during the webinar include:

  • How can individual site performance be benchmarked fairly against the wider estate?
  • What do auditors provide that your site teams can’t?
  • How much will the recommended actions cost? And will they even be actionable?
  • How can you garner support for Energy Audits from the board or SLT?
  • How can you track the success of the actions post-implementation?
  • How do you know which sites are best to audit?
  • If your estate is new, is there any value in undertaking site surveys?
  • How do you start the process?
