From Green Claims Risk to Retail Readiness: Preparing for the ECGT Directive

About this event

The EU’s Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive is reshaping how organisations can communicate environmental information to consumers, including green claims and sustainability labels. From 27 September 2026, the rules will apply to products on shelf and websites targeted to EU consumers. For UK retailers selling into Europe, the challenge is not only legal compliance, but how to continue communicating climate action in a way that is clear, credible and commercially effective.

In this session, the Carbon Trust will explore what the ECGT means in practice for retailers and set out a pragmatic route from product footprinting to assurance, to consumer-facing communication through labelling. Designed for retailers navigating climate, compliance and customer communication challenges, this webinar combines regulatory context with practical next steps relevant to food retail.
