British Retail Consortium invites you to their event

Get ready for the new packaging data reporting rules

About this event

An Overview of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Packaging by Valpak

If you work in retail, you probably deal with a lot of packaging. You might be importing products in packaging or supplying packaged goods under your own brand or third-party brand. Whether you are food or non-food, Bricks and Mortar, multichannel or pureplay, if you sell packaged goods to UK consumers, you need to be aware of the changing regulatory regime around packaging and how it may impact your business.

The most significant changes to the UK’s Packaging Waste Regulations since their inception in 1997 will bring never before seen financial and administrative burdens to those placing packaging on the UK market. This session on the data reporting requirements of EPR will be delivered by George Atkinson, Head of Policy at Valpak, the UK’s largest packaging producer responsibility compliance scheme.

The session will help attendees navigate the data declaration complexities presented by the reforms, cover the new producer reporting schedules, as well as the ‘sales by nation’ data declaration to be made by suppliers once a year.

This session also will offer advice to BRC members as to how they can best prepare themselves to comply with the changing regulations and mitigate their impacts. A Q&A section where BRC members can pose questions to the speaker will also be held.
