Jordan Cook, a former teacher turned HR professional and semi-professional editor. He has always had a desire to be an educator, and he has been involved in education since high school when he volunteered in local schools. After college, he taught special needs students, and in 2012 he moved to Sendai, Japan where he worked at MeySen Academy, first as an EFL teacher and then as the Head Teacher managing a department of 12 EFL teachers. He stepped into the role of Human Resources Manager for the school in 2017 and realized that there are many similarities between teaching elementary students and managing HR. In 2021 he returned to the US with his family, and he is now a recruiter at Magna International, one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturing companies. In all of these experiences, his passion for building relationships and developing people has remained constant, whether it’s with his students talking about their cats, or with his co-workers strategizing on how to build a strong leadership pipeline, people have been the focus of his career.
Eliza Ferrie is a Business English teacher, who has been working in the TEFL industry for over 12 years. After discovering her passion for teaching English in 2009, while working in South Korea, she endeavored to develop her teaching skills by completing her CELTA specializing in Adult learning and eventually completing a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Over the years she has had varied teaching experiences, teaching both in Korea and Canada in Universities, Private Schools and most recently as a Business English Instructor at Hyundai Motors in Ulsan, South Korea. Her passion has always been teaching Business English and with over 8 years of experience she eventually decided to branch out and start her own teaching business. She currently owns her own online business, teaching business English to motivated professionals looking to gain confidence speaking in the workplace to reach their career goals.
Gabriel Rshaid is the co-founder and Director of The Learnerspace, a company whose mission is to help build the future of learning. He is also co-founder of The Global School, the first school of its type in Latin America, attempting to make educational change a reality. Formerly Headmaster of St. Andrew’s Scots School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the oldest bilingual school in the world, he is a passionate educational futurist who is intent on sharing his belief that it is the best time in history to be an educator. Gabriel is the author of five books, and has contributed as a co-author to numerous other books and anthologies. A former board member of ASCD and chair of ESSARP, he has spoken and led professional development workshops all over the world, working with educators to help create the future of education.
