Dr. Prof. Dr. Heiko A. Schiffter-Weinle earned his degree in pharmacy from the University of Heidelberg, Germany and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutics from the University of Erlangen, Germany. He carried out postdoctoral work at the University of Oxford, where he later took on the role of Lecturer and Head of the Drug and Vaccine Delivery Laboratories at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. His industry experience includes working as a Lab Manager Research & Development Pharma Ingredients at BASF in Germany. Since 2015, Prof. Dr. Schiffter-Weinle has held the position of Professor of Pharmaceutics at the University of Applied Science in Cologne, Germany. His research interests include spray drying, freeze drying, amorphous solid displersions and hot melt extrusion for poorly water-soluble actives and needle-free ballistic drug and vaccine delivery.
