About this event
Paul Stahl, Executive Director
Paul Gouws, Chief Technology Officer
Synopsis:
The SATCOM industry is currently undergoing the most significant transformation it has experienced in decades. This is equally true of the ground segment which is undergoing important technology changes to keep pace. This presentation will highlight some of the drivers as well as the technologies being developed to address these opportunities.
Sean Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer
Synopsis:
Putting Edge AI processing onboard Earth Observation satellites enables the analysis of images onboard and the extraction of insights in real time. Inter-satellite communication links enable a persistent communication path to ground, meaning critical insights can get to end users in minutes from acquisition of the image. This enables new observing strategies and the era of Live Earth Intelligence, with real-time insights and automated collaboration of satellite assets.
Pete Wilson, Head of Channel Strategy and Sales - Cyber, Cloud and Security
Synopsis:
Make a significant impact on revenue growth during your IoT journey by preparing and understanding the challenging landscape. In this session there are several key topics that will be covered:
Omar Qaise, Founder and CEO
Synopsis:
The direct-to-device whether IoT or smart phones has received a lot of attention recently with many believing to b the holy grail of the satellite telecommunication industry. The impact of D2D on the satcom market and the role of NewSpace in it will be discussed.
Julian Fernandes, Chief Executive Officer
Synopsis:
Standardized LoRa LPWAN technology is well deploying in industrial use cases, FOSSA is deploying a worldwide LEO constellation to connect these COTS devices directly in the most hard to reach areas. Sovereignty and security must be at the forefront of satellite connectivity for national security and IoBT use cases.
Tim Pavlick, Chief Product Officer Artificial Intelligence and Bio Design
Synopsis:
AI experiments are common throughout the New Space Ecosystem. However McKinsey studies show only 10-15% of companies apply AI to productive use. This talk will focus on applying AI across your New Space infrastructure.
Jai Dailani, Managing Director US
Hosted by
Paul joined ETL Systems in 2018, bringing over 20 years’ experience in the satellite communications industry. In that time he has taken lead roles in the design and development of industry leading avionics SATCOM terminals, spacecraft RF systems and satellite ground segment equipment, covering both ends of the SATCOM link
AI experiments are common throughout the New Space Ecosystem. However McKinsey studies show only 10-15% of companies apply AI to productive use. This talk will focus on applying AI across your New Space infrastructure. Dr. Pavlick is an expert in AI. His background in Cognitive Psychology gives him a unique insight into the progress & trajectory of classical & Gen AI. He led the first commercial satellite application of AI to fingerprinting vessel RADAR.
Jai leads the North America business development initiative for ground-segment-as-a-service for customers in the space industry including Satellite Operators in LEO, MEO and GEO orbits, Rocket Launchers, High Altitude Platforms, Space Situational Awareness, Space Debris Management, Lunar/Cis-Lunar mission providers, Asteroid Mining and Deep Space Mission providers. He served in a similar role for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and spent time with ORBCOMM.
Julian is the co-founder and CEO of FOSSA Systems, a Spanish scaleup that provides cost-effective and secure IoT solutions to companies with assets in remote areas through satellite connectivity. FOSSA Systems’ vision is to bring mass adoption to satellite enabled IoT through interoperable and standardized connectivity. Its objective is tom provide IoT communications worldwide, even in areas where there is no mobile coverage.
Pete has 35+ years’ experience in Digitization, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) / Internet of Things (IoT), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Differential / Global Positioning System (DGPS / GPS), Telematics for Fleet Management and satellite technologies (NTN / D2D). He has spent ten years with Telefonica Tech but interestingly, has held positions with ORBCOMM and Space Systems Loral.
Sean Mitchell has been a deep tech entrepreneur for over thirty years, specialising in areas of semiconductors and Edge AI. Sean has been through the entire lifecycle of startup companies from founding to scaling to exit multiple times. For the past eight years, Ubotica has brought onboard Edge AI to satellites in the Earth Observation industry, enabling a new era of Live Earth Intelligence.
OQ TECHNOLOGY is building a global, cellular compatible, satellite constellation dedicated for 5G "Internet-of-Things" communication that can provide connectivity anywhere, especially in remote and rural areas. They serve the Oil & Gas, Maritime, Industry 4.0, and Transport segments particularly for the management and tracking of assets in remote areas. Omar is the Founder and CEO, he has spent time with DLR, OHB, SES and the European Space Agency as a SpeceCraft Engineer.
c21-virtual was derived from EMP, which since 2002 had organised roundtable style conferences across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, North America, South America, and Europe, more than 150 live events in total.
