Free Tools We Love | Working Remotely in Slack: Using a Chat Platform

About this event

What’s this webinar about?

Whether you work remotely 100% of the time or find yourself navigating this situation for the very first time, working at a physical distance can pose a unique set of challenges. Catchafire uses Slack to chat internally with staff and we'd like you to get to know it, too! We'll first walk through some basics to get you oriented within Slack, and then quickly introduce best practices tailored to remote work situations. We’ll highlight specific tactics within Slack that you can put into practice right away, or bring back to your team.

Note: Slack is free for nonprofits with 250 or fewer staff, through the Slack for Nonprofits program.

Some questions we’ll explore:

  • How do I use Slack to chat with my team?
  • Can I use Slack for 1:1 discussions?
  • How can Slack help improve my productivity?

Why should I attend?

Do any of the following apply to you?

  • I'm trying to set up virtual communications for my organization
  • I need a space where my constituents can chat with my team or with each other
  • I want creative ideas to keep me and my team positive and connect while we're working virtually
