Dr. F. Javier Orozco is the Executive Director of Human Dignity and Intercultural Affairs for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. He is skilled in Catholic theology and ministry, ecumenical and inter-religious leadership, and intercultural competence. He also has taught at different universities, theological institutes, and seminaries. Dr. Orozco's professional consultations include a variety of local, regional and national partnerships and affiliations that involve distinct civic, business, religious, academic and cultural institutions and interests.
He serves the USCCB, in this role, he has represented the LMFLY Secretariat to the Vatican Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life, the 2018 Synod of Bishops in Rome, and the Holy See’s ongoing work with WYD. He is the author of the future book on Lent, Hope from the Ashes.
Bishop Clarence (Larry) Silva is the Bishop of the Diocese of Honolulu since 2005. He attended college seminary and St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, California. After his ordination, Father Silva’s assignments were mostly in the inner city of Oakland among a racially diverse community. Early in his priesthood, he was sent to Mexico for two summers to study Spanish so that he could minister more effectively to the many Spanish-speaking people in his parishes. For four years, he served as Director of Vocations, and for almost two years he was the Vicar General of the Diocese of Oakland. Bishop Silva has served on the following committees of the USCCB: Protection of Children and Youth, Cultural Diversity (particularly Asian & Pacific Islanders Subcommittee), and Catholic Education.
Dr. C. Vanessa White, D. Min. is an Associate Professor of Spirituality and Ministry at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and Associate Director of the Master of Theology program at Xavier University’s Institute for Black Catholic Studies. A former convener for the Black Catholic Theological Symposium, she considers herself a womanist practical theologian whose her research is focused on the intersections of spirituality and praxis and is attentive to issues of discernment, health, women’s spirituality, diversity/intercultural dialogue, leadership development, spiritual and ministry formation, spiritual practices, lay ministry, adult faith formation and issues pertinent to the life of Black Catholics. She is an advisor for the Fetzer Institute’s Study of Spirituality in the Americas published in 2020 as well as consultant to the USCCB’s Subcommittee on Certification for Ecclesial Ministry.
Dr. Jem Sullivan serves as Associate Professor of Practice in Catechetics in the School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the history and theory of Catechetics. Dr. Sullivan was appointed to serve as a member of the International Council for Catechesis under the auspices of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, Rome. Her research and publications focus on liturgical catechesis and the place of beauty and the arts in catechesis and evangelization.
The Catholic Apostolate Center takes its inspiration from the spirituality of St. Vincent Pallotti and achieves its goal of deepening collaboration with dioceses and other organizations by creating formation programs for the New Evangelization through creating resources.
