Cut Out the Cut-Outs: The Trouble with Themes in Early Childhood Education

About this event

Early childhood educators (ECEs) have the capacity and competence to develop meaningful interest-based programming for children. This webinar will offer support to ECEs on their journey to emerge with emergent curriculum. An emergent curriculum approach is one that builds on play, engagement, expression has the potential to empower children, educators, and families. In this webinar, participants will learn the background, history, and theory of emergent curriculum. They will learn how to support others on their journey towards offering children interest-base programming, and they will learn why themes are problematic and limit children’s creativity and imagination.
