Enriched Learning Environments-Part 1

About this event

In part 1 of this webinar, participants will learn the significance of the benefits of the learning environment and the important role the environment plays for children, families, and themselves. Through co-evaluating various types of spaces, we will discover the components that contribute to a successful set-up of early learning environments from infant to school-age children. Additionally, some of the tools we will be using include the 5 Key Components and the 3 core values used in EarlyON Child and Family Centres, however, can be applied to other early learning environments, as well as the role of the 3rd teacher. Learn the importance of room setup, including the overall set up of learning centres and how they blend, intersect and work in tandem together, as well as the benefits of using shelving for room set up, mobile set up, labeling, room design, private/cozy space, lighting, plants, welcoming, synergy of activities, choice of materials, scaffolding, organization and play/inquiry based, promotion of child independence and group dynamics.
