About this event
Hearing and engaging with difficult and disturbing stories from children and families can lead to vicarious trauma. Vicarious trauma involves the transformation of an educator's inner experience and world view. The concept of vicarious resilience (coined by researchers Hernandez, Gangsei and Enstrom in 2007) demonstrates that the educator's transformation may also be a healing experience. We will explore how the concept of vicarious resilience can be a useful tool for working with children and families.
