About this event
The PREVAIL project is building a European multi-hub platform designed to empower academia, research centers, and industry to develop, test, and prototype AI products. This is made possible through advanced low-power computing technologies developed by four leading RTOs, tailored to specific application needs.
PREVAIL’s offering is built on three core technological pillars:
Join this webinar to discover the technologies and services available through PREVAIL and explore opportunities to develop and test your Edge AI applications through upcoming EU funding calls.
Agenda:
1. Introduction to TEF – PREVAIL
2. PREVAIL Technical Offer: Non-Volatile Memories, 3D and Silicon Photonics
3. User Access Procedures
4. Upcoming call on “Low power Edge AI Chips”
5. Q&A
Speakers:
Sergio Nicoletti, Ph.D. - European Program Manager, CEA-Leti
Experienced researcher and program manager with expertise in silicon components and optical gas sensors. Currently leading the PREVAIL project and managing institutional partnerships at the Silicon Component Department of CEA-Leti. Joined in 2006, previously serving as chief researcher and project leader. Holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France.
Vasiliki Kosma, EU funded R&D Project Manager, imec
Vasiliki Kosma received her PhD degree in Materials Science & Engineering from University of Ioannina, Greece in 2010. After two postdocs (Unical Italy, Nov. 2013 – Dec. 2014 and Cornell Univ. NY, USA, Jan. 2015 – Apr. 22018) she joined imec in 2018, as R&D Engineer in Advanced Patterning Dept. of APPM, working on materials & processes for EUVL applications. She is currently working as R&D Project Manager for EU funded projects (Prevail pilot-line & NanoIC pilot-line).
Marco Ceccarelli, Programme Officer for Microelectronics and Photonics at the European Commission
Marco Ceccarelli contributes to shaping EU semiconductor R&D and industrial policies. Following his involvement in drafting the European Chips Act, he now plays a key role in its implementation, with a focus on chip design, manufacturing, and innovation financing. Before joining the Commission in 2017, he held managerial roles at Philips, leading innovation in electronic systems, held executive positions in high-tech SMEs, and worked as a research scientist in visual intelligence.
Maritza T. Ortiz, R&D Project leader, imec
Maritza Ortiz has spent the past seven years at imec, contributing across the Emerging Businesses, Strategy, Innovation, and Partnerships groups. Her roles have spanned technical, project management, communications, and business domains, with a focus on bridging the gap between customers, R&D, and operations. She has a research background in Physics with a strong industrial orientation and experience in silicon photonics, metrology, and GaN technologies. She is currently involved in enabling access to technologies developed through EU-funded projects.
Jyrki Kiihamäki, Co-Creation Manager, VTT
Dr. Jyrki Kiihamäki has worked for 36 years at VTT, Technical Research Centre of Finland, currently as a Co-Creation Manager at the Microelectronics and Quantum Technologies research area. He has led the silicon-on-insulator (SOI) MEMS and the MEMS teams 2006-2012. After that he has been in strategic research management positions. He is VTT representative at Aeneas and EPoS industry associations and a member of Xecs TEG.
