About this webinar
Evidence shows that the most important in-school factor for improving pupil outcomes in all subjects is the quality of teaching and that this can be improved by engagement in high quality continuing professional development (CPD). Therefore, it is important that school leaders and teachers understand what is meant by high quality CPD. However, there is currently no widely used system of quality assurance of CPD provision in England.
The Wellcome Trust and the Education Endowment Foundation are jointly funding the scoping phase of a project to design and test a system to quality assure the provision of continuing professional development (CPD) for teachers. For this phase of the project a consortium of three organisations has been commissioned to carry out the work: the Chartered College of Teaching, the Teacher Development Trust and Sheffield Institute of Education, Sheffield Hallam University. These three organisations are leading the scoping phase of the project, where they will consult widely across the education sector in order to understand the perspectives of a range of different stakeholders.
In this consultation webinar we will test some of the initial findings from the research with the profession, providing an opportunity to develop our understanding of teachers' and school leaders' perspectives in this area, focusing on the implications for their schools.
Please register for this webinar if you are interested in taking part in the consultation.
