Construction Industry Council invites you to their event

CITAC x PolyU CEEAA Webinar on Construction of the Long Span Footbridge at NWK Site 6

About this event

A 2-spans steel Long Span Footbridge in length of 145m was constructed connecting Hoi Ying estate and the government institution community block at Hoi Tat Estate.  The major span is 111m across West Kowloon Highway.  The footbridge is a tied-arch structure with 10.5m high.  The deck level is 11.5m above the deck level of West Kowloon Highway underneath.

The footbridge is spanning over 16 lanes of carriageway and 3 railway lines including Tuen Ma Line, Tung Chung Line and Airport Express.  An innovative construction method of vertical erection and rotation lowering for connection was implemented.

The construction method is the first of its kind adopted in Hong Kong.

The construction process and challenges for design, manufacturing, erection and lowering operation will be presented.
