Since the first issue of PNAP ADV 36 in December 2017, more than 35 systems of In-principle Acceptance (IPA) and more than 30 MiC pilot projects have been approved by the Buildings Department (BD) or other government departments. Technical knowhow and statutory submission procedures have been established with ongoing refinement based on the practical experience.
In this workshop, we invite representatives from BD to explain the IPA framework and the workflow of Project Statutory Plan submissions on building and structural aspect. We have also invited the Authorised Person (AP) and Registered Structural Engineer (RSE) from the InnoCell project (the first completed steel MiC high-rise building in Hong Kong) to share their hands-on experience on a number of IPA and project submissions, advice on the MiC project procurement and technical assessment of MiC vendors, and lessons learnt from the completed MiC projects.
