Construction Industry Council invites you to their event

Webinar on Building Simplexity in Post-digital Architecture Practice

About this event

In today's post-digital architectural era, a strong dichotomy exists between the increased capability offered by our design tools and the resources given by many construction contexts – especially building environments of developing countries with limited available onsite means, skill, budget, or time.

In this webinar, Dr. Kristof CROLLA will introduce an alternative computation-driven design and materialisation methodology that capitalises on digital design models' propensity towards designing multiplicities and uses this for the design of singular solutions in highly volatile contexts.

Webinar Highlights:

  • Address pointed questions about computational abilities, building tolerances, and outcomes of the disrupted security of architecture's standard reproductive infrastructure
  • Introduce an alternative computation-driven design and materialisation methodology
  • Explore the positive impacts of the proposed methods

Speakers:

  • Ar Rachel Chow, HKIA Chairperson of BIM & IT Committee
  • Ar Stephen Ho, Assistant Director — Industry Development & Estates Office
  • A/Prof. Dr. Ir. Arch. Kristof Crolla, Associate Professorship, The University of Hong Kong; Architect, Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd.
