During this e-conference, our top-level panelists will address the major issues of the Safe City today in Latin America as well as digital security and how technological innovations can protect people, cities and countries.

Citizen security has been Latin America’s main challenge during the last decades. Intensive use of technology and data-driven policing are among the strategies authorities have adopted to tackle the existing high crime and victimization rates.

Ten years ago, Mexico Ciudad Segura program revolutionized the way cities’ C4s address incident management by integrating various subsystems into a unique platform improving situation awareness.

Nowadays, disruptive technologies such as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence significantly support incident detection and qualification. This allows the operator to focus on incident resolution.

In a digitally accelerated world, even more so in the current conditions related to covid 19, where sectors of all kinds have exploited the digital environment to survive, digital security threats have multiplied. People, cities and countries are now more vulnerable. Innovation and articulated work between sectors of society (academia, public and private, entrepreneurs, for example) are essential to face current and future challenges.
