About this webinar
The Construction Sector Accord is proud to partner with Diversity Works NZ, the national body for workplace diversity and inclusion, on this webinar. Promoting and supporting diversity in construction is a key focus for the Accord. It is a core component of the People Development workstream within the Accord’s three-year Transformation Plan.
Join this webinar to hear Maretha Smit, CEO of Diversity Works NZ, discuss why New Zealand construction workplaces need to be diverse and inclusive, and talk about the results of the annual New Zealand Workplace Diversity Survey.
At the recent 2020 Diversity Awards NZ™ it was great to see the construction sector well represented as winners, finalists and highly commended. We will hear from organisations in our sector recognised as implementing outstanding work by the judges of the Diversity Awards. This includes Work Life Balance Award winner, Aurecon who introduced a new parental-leave policy that encourages “secondary carers” to play a more active part in caring for children and Skills Highway Award finalist HEB Construction who has addressed literacy issues among its 1000-strong workforce.
Tomorrow’s Workforce Award finalist Fletcher Building will talk about their Girl Boss NZ initiative and Tomorrow’s Workforce highly commended City Care will discuss how it has expanded its talent pool and pipeline for the purpose of growing tomorrow’s workforce.
