As Africa's population grows and food security challenges intensify due to climate change and economic pressures, entrepreneurs across the continent are stepping up with innovative solutions. Through advancements in agritech, data analytics, and sustainable farming, they aim to boost productivity, build resilient food systems, and improve supply chain management. By combining technology and entrepreneurship, these ventures directly contribute to achieving SDG 2 - Zero Hunger.

The event will start with welcome remarks by the moderator (Daniela Ortiz, ICEP), followed by an opening impulse by Victoria Gathogo (WFP Innovation Accelerator), highlighting the role of innovation in addressing food security, insights into the KAAIA program and the importance of partnerships and collaborations. This will be followed by presentations from three groundbreaking entrepreneurial ventures, selected as finalists from 832 applications for the Kofi Annan Award for Innovation in Africa 2024. They will share their inspirations, challenges, key partnerships, next steps and support needs. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring an impact investor, focusing on impact-driven key factors for investment and scaling impact, the role of due diligence and accountability, non-capital support (mentorship, networking, etc.), valuable investment insights and lessons learned.
