
Lighting for the WELL Building Standard
This class will review how lighting is applied to make buildings healthier for occupants by meeting WELL standard requirements. It covers all aspects of lighting, including how electric lighting and daylighting can be used together to meet the WELL standard requirements. It also covers how lighting controls can play an important role in meeting the WELL standard. This course is HSW approved.

- Understand the requirements of the lighting portion of the WELL spec
- Understand the role daylighting plays in the WELL spec
- Understand the preconditions as well as optimizations of the WELL spec.
- Understand how lighting controls are incorporated in the WELL spec
- Understand what Effective Melanopic Lux are, and how to obtain adequate EML levels.
- Understand how color rendering plays a role in the WELL Standard
- Understand how glare is quantified and controlled in the WELL Standard
- Understand the role electric light flicker plays in the WELL Standard
- Understand how points for optimization of lighting can play a role in meeting the WELL Standard.
