    Ethan Rogers Technology Manager @ U.S. Department of Energy, Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office’s (DOE AMO)’s

    Ethan has over twenty years of experience in industrial energy efficiency. His background includes working in industry, government, and non-profit organizations. He has managed programs, developed projects, lead teams, and facilitated initiatives that change how energy savings are measured, managed, and valued. He joined the U.S. Department of Energy, Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office’s (DOE AMO)’s Technical Partnerships team in 2019 and works on incorporating energy management standards, such as ISO 50001 and SEP 50001, into energy efficiency programs and corporate sustainability standards. He also supports the Better Plants program and other technical assistance initiatives.

    Afif Bitar Executive Director, Global Power & Energy @ American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM)

    Afif M. Bitar joined American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) in 1997 as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Detroit Gear & Axle. Prior to his current position, he served as a Corporate Facility & Construction Manager where he managed the construction of AAM’s new facilities, equipment installation, and energy management. In his current position, Bitar is responsible for managing infrastructure systems, energy and renewable contract negotiations, and energy management strategy aligned with AAM overall Sustainability objectives. Bitar holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is a professional engineer in five states, a certified energy manager (CEM), certified energy auditor (CEA) and a certified Demand-Side manager (CDSM). He is an active committee member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Energy Star automotive focus group, and Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

    Joe has over 40 years’ experience in Energy, Powerhouse Operations, Compressed Air Systems, Maintenance and Operational Efficiency Improvements. He currently leads GOE, a “Lean, Green, Efficient” consulting company dedicated to helping organizations make their operations more efficient and save money by implementing Energy Management (i.e. SEM, ISO 50001, DOE 50001 Ready), Energy Efficiency actions (i.e. energy system/ compressed air system improvements.) and Lean Manufacturing.
