Delmic invites you to their event

The promise of perovskites: Challenges and opportunities for material science research

About this event

What to expect:

  • Learn about the latest developments in perovskite research
  • Discover how cathodoluminescence imaging can accelerate your research
  • Interact with a leading scientist
Join us for an exciting webinar on the latest developments in metal halide perovskite research! Our expert speakers will take you on a journey to explore the novel directions researchers are exploring, and how cathodoluminescence spectroscopy can help in developing better perovskite materials.

Perovskites are one of the hottest topics in the industry and academia, and the race is on to achieve breakthrough efficiencies in devices such as solar panels based on metal halide perovskites. In this webinar, we are delighted to have Prof. Dr. Maria Antonietta Loi from the University of Groningen join us as our keynote speaker. Professor Loi, a leading expert in the perovskite field, will share with us her insights on what makes metal halide perovskites such attractive materials from an optoelectronic perspective. She will also discuss the current challenges and trends in this dynamic field taking as an example a recent work of her group on sky blue emitters for light emitting diodes.

In the second half of the webinar, our application specialist Herman Duim will provide an overview of cathodoluminescence (CL) spectroscopy imaging of metal halide perovskites. CL imaging enables the characterization of a material's optical properties with a spatial resolution well beyond the diffraction limit of light. Herman will also share some recent examples of how this technique can be used to understand the nanoscale properties of this exciting class of materials.
