Building the business case for salary sacrifice and electric vehicles

About this event

Sponsored by:

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the role, and design, of company car schemes has changed for many organisations. Car salary sacrifice arrangements and electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular with both employers and employees, in part due to their cost efficiencies and sustainable credentials. So, what do employers need to know when building the business case for such schemes?

Employee Benefits' webinar, in association with Tusker, will explore what employers need to consider before implementing a salary sacrifice arrangement; what challenges they may encounter around electric vehicles or salary sacrifice; tax reporting and financial accounting; the role of electric vehicles in a sustainability strategy; and how to maximise employee engagement with electric vehicles and salary sacrifice.

Editor Debbie Lovewell-Tuck will welcome four expert panellists for an in-depth discussion about the key issues around car salary sacrifice arrangements and electric vehicles.

Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to our panel throughout the discussion.

About our panellists

Tanya Llewellyn is benefits manager, Europe at Centrica. Tanya has been in this role for nearly eight years managing and developing the extensive employee benefits proposition in the UK for 20,000 employees. As well as delivering key projects globally, Tanya has specialised in the employee benefits space for 18 years with previous roles at Goldman Sachs, BDO, FCA and Kantar/TNS and others.

Tanya has extensive experience in managing salary sacrifice car schemes right from scheme design to full fleet management.

Rob Mottram is head of reward and human capital management (HCM) systems at McBride, the leading European manufacturer and supplier of private label and contract manufactured products for the domestic household and professional cleaning and hygiene markets. Rob joined McBride in September 2022, having previously worked as a reward manager for Ornua, and prior to this as a pensions consultant at both KPMG and Mercer.

Rob is responsible for setting and maintaining McBride’s reward strategy, working closely with HR teams in multiple locations across Europe and Asia to ensure colleagues feel valued and motivated by their compensation and benefits. McBride launched an updated company car policy including electric vehicles in some locations in 2024, dealing with specific points such as the higher cost of electric vehicles, availability and provision of charging infrastructure, and tax status of electric vehicles. Rob and the wider McBride HR team are now assessing how to develop this further and to expand to other locations across Europe.

Andy Tamplin is senior account development manager at Tusker. Andy has been with Tusker for 12 years working with some of Tusker’s leading strategic accounts including British Airways and EDF Energy to bring the car scheme to their employees. Andy continues to be instrumental in managing the car scheme in accordance with individual customer requirements, understanding their organisations to ensure the savings and benefits are maximised. Prior to Tusker, Andy spent seven years in automotive retail with brands such as Vauxhall and Jaguar, and previously, 19 years in various roles within the automotive sector.
