About this event
Construction and manufacturing in the UK and Ireland face a fast-evolving regulatory landscape. This session will explore how forthcoming rules, including whole-life carbon assessments for buildings and the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, are reshaping project delivery and product manufacturing. We will also explore the ripple effects of EU legislation such as the Construction Products Regulation, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism on UK and Irish markets. Join us to understand compliance requirements, prepare for mandatory carbon reporting, and identify opportunities to lead in low-carbon construction.
● Understand how UK and Ireland climate policies are converging with EU rules, from mandatory whole-life carbon assessments for buildings to product-level carbon reporting.
● Learn what the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) mean for manufacturers supplying UK and Irish markets.
● Anticipate the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on imports of carbon-intensive materials such as steel, cement, and aluminium.
● Hear how Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) are becoming decisive in procurement, permitting, and funding decisions.
● Gain practical insights to ensure compliance, avoid market access risks, and capture opportunities in low-carbon construction and manufacturing.
