Juliette White is VP for Global SHE and Sustainability, based in UK, and has 30 years’ service with AZ. Juliette graduated with a degree in Psychology and during her time with the Company has held a wide number of HR roles both in UK and US, including various Supply Chain roles within Operations. Juliette has a breadth of experience in HR leadership roles both Centre of Excellence and shared service roles, and also as VP for HR for Operations and our Enabling Functions. Most recently Juliette led our organisation responsible for all our commercial external supply chains, managing a network of over 200 CMOs covering all aspects of our portfolio and across a wide range of technology basis, ensuring supply and value for AZ.
Steve trained as a drug discovery scientist through ten years at Pfizer, UK after graduating from University of Wales, Aberystwyth. During this industrial experience he moved from a gene expression expert, into biochemistry, pharmacology and lab safety. He also was familiar with the need for better peptide libraries to hit difficult drug targets, especially ion channels. After redundancy from Pfizer in 2010 Steve set up Venomtech Ltd to deliver assay ready purified venom peptides to address the difficult targets in drug discovery. Through the first ten years of Venomtech we regularly traded with Europe both as a source of responsibly sourced venomous animals but also supplying venom libraries to European drug discovery and crop science companies. Brexit has been a significant challenge for Venomtech to adapt to as being the only commercial venom lab in the UK there is no trade community or similar companies to look to. Jiteen Ahmed is the Head of Technical Services and has worked at Aston University for over 20 years, during this time, Jiteen has provided support for teaching and research laboratories which has resulted in being a named author in a couple of research papers and being named as an inventor on a patent. Jiteen is also the University Radiological Safety Advisor and Radiation Protection Supervisor at Aston University. Externally, Jiteen represents Aston University at the Midlands Innovations Technical Manager group and at the Southern University Purchasing Consortia (SUPC) Laboratory Group of which he is the Chair of the Laboratory group. Jiteen is also the Chair of the STEMed National Procurement group and is an advisor for Lab Innovations. Recently, Jiteen became one of the commissioners for the TALENT National Policy Commission.
