About this event
There’s a demand, workload and capacity crisis in primary care that can only be tackled with an at-scale digital triage service. Now is the time to establish a robust centralised working model, taking advantage of centrally funded Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) incentives that are available before the end of July.
Forward-looking PCNs are realising the need for at-scale triage and management of incoming patient demand. Efficiencies and resilience can be created by encouraging information-rich online patient requests and centralising their management, supported by the varied skillset provided by ARRS roles.
“Our eHub has a waiting list of GPs wanting to work with us. Our eHub makes use of a network of GPs and HCPs who work remotely, or part-time, and can easily deal with patients that do not require a face-to-face consultation. By triaging patients in this way, it not only lessens the workload for the main practices, but it relieves time and pressure, allowing practice-based GPs to maintain the relationship with patients who require face-to-face appointments.” Dr Ross Dyer-Smith, creator of the eHub
eHubs using eConsult’s online consultation and triage platform have already been established in 10 sites, such as in 20 practices in Brent (North West London), Brixton and Clapham Park PCN in Lambeth (South East London) and the original eHub concept set up in the Hurley Group in 2017.
Dr Ross Dyer-Smith is a GP Partner with the Hurley Group, a former Darzi Fellow and NHS Digitial Academy Fellow. He is an expert in online consultations and the creator of the GP eHub concept for centralising online consultations and workflow service operating at scale.
Georgie Johnson is eConsult’s Chief Operating Officer and has been leading the expert team of clinicians, primary care and service design specialists to create eConsult’s eHub transformation offer.
We recommend that you also watch our webinar explaining how to maximise the DES funding and how Folkestone, Hythe & Rural PCN plan to use an eConsult eHub to deliver on their contractual obligations.
