About this event
The way in which the built environment can work with the natural environment and ensuring urban growth is sustainable, is an important challenge for a range of stakeholders, including engineers, geologists, planners, landowners, local government and policy makers.
The VENTURA project, a collaboration between Imperial College London (ICL), the British Geological Survey (BGS), and University College London (UCL) with pilot partners Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Environment Agency and United Utilities, developed interactive models of the natural and built environment that can be applied to improve water management decisions in the context of local urban planning.
This webinar will demonstrate this novel, web-based virtual decision room (VDR) and how the digital tools available can be used to explore the impact of different planning and decision scenarios on water system and catchment planning and ensure the impacts of housing and infrastructure delivery are considered in terms of flood risk, water quality and resilience to climate change.
