About this event
Living in the 21st century, we'd probably all assume that a situation as terrifying as in Ukraine could not possibly happen in Europe. Unfortunately, reality proves us wrong. In moments like these, people and companies can't keep silent.
With the Equalture team, we have been brainstorming about different ways to support Ukraine and all its citizens who are in need of help. The outcome of this brainstorming session was that we probably can provide the best financial support by staying close to what we do as a company. Shaping the world of unbiased hiring.
Equalture offers Unconscious Bias Trainings, for which we normally charge €595. To raise money for The Ukraine Humanitarian Fund, we open up our training to whoever wants to join. Instead of asking everyone for the standard fee of €595, we'd like you to donate whatever amount you can miss. Every donation, small or large, will help the citizens of Ukraine. This can be done on an individual level, but involving your company might further increase the total amount.
The Ukraine Humanitarian Fund is one of the UN's country-based pooled funds. Contributions are collected into a single, unearmarked fund and managed locally under UN leadership. As crises evolve, funds are made directly and immediately available to a wide range of partner organizations at the front lines of response. This way, funding reaches the people most in need, when they need it.
Our brain needs to process millions of pieces of information each second and make thousands of decisions each day. In order to survive the information overload, our brain uses cognitive shortcuts, where the brain unconsciously interprets information and attaches meaning to this.
Cognitive shortcuts do have downsides though. They allow for unconscious bias, making us judge people within the blink of an eye. This results in treating people unfairly and ultimately, making the wrong hiring decisions.
