About Tilly Metz
Tilly Metz (Luxembourg City, 1967) is a Luxembourgish teacher and politician of the Green Party who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since June 2018. She has a Diploma in psychology and a Master in educational psychology. After teaching humanities and social sciences, she was deputy director of the Lycée Technique pour Professions Educatives et Sociales (LTPES) in Mersch.
Metz served as chairwoman of the Luxembourg Greens between 2004 and 2009. From 2005 to 2011 she was Mayor of Weiler-la-Tour. From December 2017, she was a member of the City Council of Luxembourg.
Since the European elections in 2019, Metz has been a Member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. She is substitute Member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism as well as the Committee on Agriculture and Sustainable Development.
In 2023, she was appointed as the European Parliament’s Rapporteur on the Proposal for a REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on the use of railway infrastructure capacity in the single European railway area, amending Directive 2012/34/EU and repealing Regulation (EU) No 913/2010.
