Experience UK are pleased to launch a series of webinars looking at opportunities for UK companies in the museum, heritage, and cultural sectors. This series of webinars has been pulled together from an ongoing extensive piece of research. Our inaugural webinar will take the form of a round table forum, focusing on opportunities within Central and Eastern Europe, and we are delighted to have four guest speakers from internationally recognised organisations within this sector. These speakers include Nick Tabatadze, CEO of Georgian Resorts and Commercial and Economic Officer for the British Embassy in Georgia, Dr Tom Fleming, a leading international authority on cultural policy and the creative economy, and Dr Shirin Melikova, President of ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee and the Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. The Round Table Forum will be conducted by Experience UK Board Member, Emily Smith (Emily Smith Assosciates) For any individual or organisation interested in doing business in this region this is a must attend webinar.
Emily Smith specialises in cultural, creative and digital partnerships and communications to achieve market growth and audience engagement. Her 25-year career spans museum, cultural and creative sectors in leading organisations including the Natural History Museum, and London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Dr Shirin Melikova, Associate Professor, Honoured Worker of Culture, has been the President of ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee and the Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum since 2016. At the same time, she is the lecturer at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts.
Nick Tabatadze is a Commercial and Economics Officer at the British Embassy in Tbilisi. He has been working with British companies, assisting them in identifying opportunities in various sectors including Experience Economy, Renewables and Infrastructure.
Dr Tom Fleming is a leading international authority on cultural policy and the creative economy. Tom's work focuses on developing methodologies, strategy and policy for creative urbanism and inclusive growth.
Mikheil Tsereteli is Deputy General Director of the Georgian National Museum, a network of 12 museums and five research centres. Since 2005 he works on the leadership position of the National Museum and is an active member of the team that works on the reforms at the organization.
