Graduate in CTA (UAB) and Master in Food Science, Safety and Health (Heriot-Watt University). At these moments, she works as a Serra Hunter Lecturer in the Department of Animal and Food Science in the Veterinary Faculty at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her research focuses on the control of pathogenic biofilms on industrial food surfaces, especially the control of Listeria monocytogenes, both in the detection and elimination of such structures.
Biologist and PhD in Limnology by University of Girona. She studied the role of biofilms in aquatic systems and participated in multiple international projects targeting biofilms. Afterwards, she moved to the food sector and worked as APPCC Technical Director and Quality manager in a ready- to-eat food company. She gained a great experience in quality related topics. Nowadays, she is the Innovation & Application Manager at CHRISTEYNS Spain and focuses her attention to the detection and removal of biofilms in the food industry.
Pedro Rodríguez has a degree in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a degree in Biological Sciences from Coventry University. He holds a Master's degree in Applied Microbiology and a PhD in Microbiology, both from the UAB. As a researcher, he has worked at the Marine Research Institute of Vigo studying the ecology, physiology and sociomicrobiology of mixed biofilms carrying Listeria monocytogenes on surfaces of the fishing, meat and dairy industry in Galicia and Asturias using independent culture methods. He has also worked as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Parma (Italy). Now, he works as a researcher in the Department of Animal and Food Science in the group of the Prof. José Juan Rodríguez at the UAB.
Undergraduate degree and PhD in Farmacy (UB). Currently, researcher and responsible of the Food Safety program at IRTA (Monells, Girona), focusing her activity in improving food safety and microbiological quality. She is a member of the BIOHAZ board of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
