    HNC in Applied Microbiology and BSc in Nutrition & Food Science. She is also a qualified FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor. Deb has over 35 years of food safety training and experience, having worked at DEFRA as a Scientific Officer and at Campden BRI Food Hygiene as Research Manager.

    Before joining Campden BRI in 2019, Zoe graduated from Reading University (UK) with a BSc in Food Science, then moved into the Dairy Sector. Her technical expertise lie with Food Processing hygienic design, Microbiological decontamination and Microbiological heat resistance.

    Dr. Avelino Álvarez-Ordóñez is Lecturer at the Higiene and Food Technology department of University of León. His main research field is to study the physiology and microbial ecology to control food pathogens in the food chain.

    Dr. Sara Bover Researcher and head of the Food Safety and Functionality Program @ IRTA

    Undergraduate degree and PhD in Farmacy (UB). Currently, researcher and responsible of the Food Safety program at IRTA (Monells, Girona), focusing her activity in improving food safety and microbiological quality. She is a member of the BIOHAZ board of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

    Dr. Irene Ylla Technical Manager @ Itram Higiene-Christeyns

    Irene, biologist and PhD in Limnology by University of Girona. She studied the role of biofilms in aquatic systems and participated in multiple international projects targeting biofilms. Afterwards, she moved to the food sector and worked as APPCC Technical Director and Quality manager in a ready- to-eat food company. She gained a great experience in quality related topics. Nowadays, she is the Technical Director of I+D at Itram Higiene and focuses her attention to the detection and removal of biofilms in the food industry.

    Dr. José Juan Rodríguez Professor in Food Safety @ Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

    Undergraduate degree in Veterinary (Universidad Zaragoza, 1987), Ph.D. in Veterinary (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, 1992), Graduate degree in food and beverage hygiene and microbiology (Institut Pasteur, Lille, France, 1992), and Graduate degree in human nutrition (Universidad de Navarra, 1995). Currently University Professor of food safety at the Nutrition and Bromatology area of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. More than 350 published articles, 101 in indexed magazines, 12 book chapters, and 250 of scientific dissemination.

    Maria Sanz Researcher in the Technical and Research Department @ Betelgeux- Christeyns

    Undergraduate degree in Biology (Uni. of Valencia), Mcs in Managing and Food Satety (Politechnical Uni. of Valencia) and PhD in Food science, technology and managing (UPV). She has taken part in multiple research projects aiming to improve Food Safety in all types of Food industries.
