About this event
A free-to-attend webinar exploring new innovations in Additive Manufacturing for Space Technology.
Additive Manufacturing, used in so many applications, is now being utilised to produce parts for space technology. It is playing a key role in enabling the production of low-cost satellites and lighter, more efficient rockets to take cargos into orbit.
Our host for the webinar series is Sarah Cruddas, a space journalist, international TV host and award winning author. Sarah has an academic background in astrophysics and is a global thought leader in the growing commercial space sector.
This month, our speakers include:
David Brackett, Group Technology Manager - Component Manufacturing Technologies at The Manufacturing Technology Centre which includes 3 departments: Additive Manufacturing, Laser Processing and Advanced Materials Processing. David is responsible for CMT technology development strategy, technical governance, and strategic partnerships, and leads a team of technology managers.
Marco Ghelfi, Aerospace Engineering Student at the University of Nottingham. Marco is a drag sail payload specialist, structural system lead and part of the AITV team within the WormSail CubeSat team.
Jason Gilmore, Additive Manufacturing Expert, Airbus Defence and Space. Jason worked on the first ever ESA funded AM study in 2007 and since then has designed many flying parts, qualified new materials and processes and presented at numerous conferences over the last 13 years.
