About this event
Join Giuseppe Improta, Director of Photography and Head of Lighting at Bardel Entertainment, to see how the leading animation studio interprets ideas, explores creative challenges, and develops a project's look and feel.
Using festive animated comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever as an example, Giuseppe will share the color scripts from the film, and explain the importance of producing iterations and understanding their implications. He’ll then give an overview of what color keys are and why they’re needed, and explain how to use key shots to establish the style for artists to work from. Giuseppe will show the process of transforming concept art into renders by using Katana’s look development and lighting toolset, which helps to define the look of the project, produce quick iterations, and enable artists to work at scale.
