About this event
For more than twenty years, the maritime sector has applied a structured logic of risk management in terms of security. The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code has imposed a clear method: identify critical assets, analyze threats, assess vulnerabilities and implement proportionate measures.
With the ongoing digital transformation of ports and ships, this established logic is now expanding beyond physical infrastructure to encompass information systems, operational technology, and digital logistics platforms. European authorities formally recognize this shift, aligning maritime operations with the NIS2 Directive to enhance governance and digital resilience as the industry embraces smart ports, automation, and autonomous vessels.
Ultimately, cybersecurity is not an extra burden, but rather a natural extension of the maritime sector's long-standing commitment to safety, security, and operational continuity. Treating cybersecurity as maritime security in the digital age ensures that connected operations, data, and information systems are as thoroughly protected against cyber threats as traditional physical assets are.
This webinar is designed to help maritime organizations understand these core cybersecurity principles, grasp the implementation logic, and leverage project support to achieve enhanced digital resilience.
In 2025, France Cyber Maritime, FEPORT, and the Federazione del Mare joined forces as part of a European project aimed at strengthening cybersecurity for maritime and port stakeholders, in response to the growing challenges posed by the sector’s digitalization and the rise in cyberthreats.
The project promotes the implementation of NIS 2 related measures and develops tailor-made solutions to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of the ecosystem. It also monitors risks and threats impacting the sector, disseminates good practices while assisting victims of cyberattacks from the maritime community.
