Gamma Risk invites you to their event

GeoInsurance 2024: How Ireland is Responding and Adapting to Climate Change Risks

About this event

Heavy rainfalls, windstorms, heatwaves, and other climate-related changes are increasingly affecting the Island of Ireland, urging the country to strengthen its resilience and adapt to these growing risks.

The recent flooding in Midleton, West Cork marked an extreme example of how weather events are impacting properties, with more than 680 properties affected, causing damage estimated at €200 million.

Join us for the 2024 edition of the GeoInsurance Webinar, where Professor Peter Thorne, researcher from Maynooth University, will share insights from an attribution study on the Midleton flood event. He will explore what happened, what could have happened, and how the region continues to deal with the aftermath of the October 2023 disaster.

Also hear from experts within the Gamma Risk team on how climate change risks are impacting Irish properties and how you can leverage predictive data to better serve your clients’ needs.

The event will be hosted by Richard Garry. The speakers are:

  • Charlotte Cuffe, Chief Data Scientist at Gamma Risk
  • Peter Thorne, Professor at Maynooth University
  • Richard Cantwell, Head of Spatial Analytics at Gamma Risk
