About this event
It's no secret that the past few years have been some of the toughest in history for the British Hospitality industry.
Firstly, there was Brexit, which signalled a max exodus of Hospitality talent from the UK, and particularly London. Then, as this was being dealt with and plans being made, Covid got us. Lockdown upon lockdown ensued and a relentless to-ing and fro-ing with openings, guidelines and restrictions from the British Government spelled out the end for lots of small establishments, and have made it tremendously difficult for others.
For now, it seems the Government's plan is going smoothly and we should see the reopening of hospitality proper on Monday 17th May. But how will the businesses cope? The staff have moved to other industries, other countries, they've used their time on furlough to retrain and rethink their priorities.
Join us for a lively debate chaired by ex-Sunday Times and Mail on Sunday Chief Reporter Nick Fielding, to discuss ways in which Hospitality can re-open and thrive in this new reality we find ourselves in.
