GScan invites you to their event

GScan Muon Tomography Breakthrough Series, Episode 002: Built infrastructures (Bridges)

About this event

Join us for a webinar exploring the muon tomography applications on the built world infrastructures.

GScan’s novel muonFLUX systems measure and analyse muons - naturally occurring and harmless atmospheric radiation - to pinpoint defects across the built environment and infrastructure down to 1mm accuracy. Its scanners measure the flow of muons (muon flux), which are subatomic particles similar to electrons, as they pass through an asset of interest and the scattering and absorption of the muons are then analysed by machine learning software to deliver clear maps of materials and defects.

In the second webinar, we are glad to host Prof Ioannis Brilakis (Laing O'Rourke Professor of Civil and Information Engineering, University of Cambridge) to give the wider picture of the bridge world.

Andi Hektor (Chief Strategy Officer, GScan) is introducing muon tomography in the context of the built world and beyond.

Key topics to be covered:

  • Introduction to the bridge world: Where we stand and how should we manage the ageing public bridge portfolio by Prof Ioannis Brilakis
  • Introduction to muon tomography: Discover how muon tomography provides high-resolution 3D scans for defect identification and structural assessment by Andi Hektor
  • Discussion session between Ioannis Brilakis and Andi Hektor with questions from the audience

Do not miss this opportunity to learn about the future of infrastructure assessment.
